The UR-DATA project members participated in the 17th NECTAR Conference held in Brussels, Belgium, from July 3-5, 2024.
The event, organised by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, focused on the role of stakeholder involvement in transport and communication research.
Under the theme “Stakeholder involvement in transport: Who, why, how and with what impact?” the conference explored various critical topics, including advancements in transport and communication, development of regulatory approaches and policies, stakeholder-based decision support, citizen engagement, and methods to assess transport impact on different stakeholder groups.
Prof. Jelena Stankovic from FEUN represented UR-DATA project in Cluster 4, which centred on “The role of urban mobility transitions in sustainable futures.”
She presented the paper “Data-Driven Solutions for Urban Transport Challenges in Developing Cities,” co-authored by John Östh, Jelena J. Stanković, Ivana Marjanović, Umut Turk, and Zvonko R. Milošević. The presentation highlighted innovative data analytics approaches to addressing urban transport issues in developing cities, emphasising the importance of data-driven solutions for sustainable urban mobility.
Team members also actively participated in the session led by prof. Aura Reggiani, from the University of Barcelona.
The conference featured various sessions and cluster meetings, providing a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge and insights.
Keynote speeches, panel discussions, and parallel sessions covered a wide range of topics, from transport policy and decarbonization to perceived accessibility and ease of travel.
The event also included receptions and social activities, fostering networking opportunities among participants.
UR-DATA’s active participation in the NECTAR Conference underscores its commitment to advancing smart and resilient urban development through interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
