In the first week of July (03-07.07.2023) the Faculty of Economics Niš hosted the International Summer School of Economics for the 15th time.
This year, the ISSE 2023 was centered around the topic Smart Cities for Smart People, divided into several subtopics, presented in the form of lectures, numerous workshops and simulations.
An international group of 25 undergraduate students from Slovenia, Latvia, Russia and Serbia participated in numerous activities and engaged in active networking, presented their home institutions and countries, while learning about Serbian historical and natural heritage.
This year’s Summer School included lectures of the professors and trainers from the UR-DATA partner universities – Oslo Metropolitan University and Poliedra – Politechnico di Milano on various topics related to the project theme.
Claudia van der Laag from Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway held an introductory lecture Introduction to Space Syntax: understanding centrality and accessibility in cities and a very succesful workshop on Introduction to Space Syntax: understanding centrality and accessibility in cities.

The official ISSE 2023 activities were accompanied by an eventful social agenda, including a field trip, country presenations and sightseeing.
