The UR-DATA project announces the active participation of its team members at the 14th RSAI World Congress, held from April 8th to 11th, 2024, at the John von Neumann University in Kecskemét, Hungary.
Organized by the Hungarian Section of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI), this congress served as a gathering for the global regional science community, fostering discussions on multidisciplinary research at the forefront of spatial sciences.
With a diverse array of topics, ranging from agglomeration economies to spatial modeling, the congress provided fertile ground for scholars and practitioners to exchange insights and explore innovative approaches to pressing regional issues. Key themes such as urban-rural relations, migration dynamics, sustainable cities, and disaster management took center stage, reflecting the urgency of addressing contemporary spatial challenges.
The policy sessions received support from esteemed bodies like the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Union, emphasizing the congress’s relevance in shaping evidence-based policy discourse.
Peter Nijkamp, a member of UR-DATA’s Scientific Advisory Board and a renowned expert in regional economics and spatial planning, participated with insightful presentations and sessions that captivated audiences, offering fresh perspectives on key issues in regional science and policy.
