Within the activities aimed at increasing the scientific capacity of the UR-DATA coordinating institution, Faculty of Economics, University of Niš (FEUN), the Laboratory of Land Economy and Urban Analytics (LEUA) is established.
The purpose of the LEUA is to enable joint research and raise interest in specific research questions related to urban analytics, as well as to publish the findings in order to achieve a broad impact.
The LEUA will be the spot where the twinning effort will be bundled and will serve as the foundation for building competence and expertise in the coming years.
The Laboratory will be providing the equipment and infrastructure for increasing excellence in the field of smart and resilient urban development analysis, using contemporary quantitative tools of data analytics.
Here the researchers from POLIEDRA and OSLOMET will perform training activities, transfer knowledge and best practices, conduct workshops and seminars aimed to include early-stage researchers and FEUN staff.
As a result of the joint effort and UR-DATA activities, the official statistics at the sub-national level are to be enriched, especially regarding environmental indicators, indicators of technological progress and innovation, but also the perceptions of urban dwellers and cultural interaction.
The offices of the LEUA are placed in the FEUN headquarters, the first one is in the room No. 7 (ground level) and the other on the second floor, No. 4. The offices are adapted in order to provide proper working space and safety of equipment for data storage and usage.
